What is your favorite type of art?

Ya know....I don't think I have a favorite. I like good use of color - sometimes bold use of color. So, I end up liking different pieces by different artists. Some are classical, some are modern.

When I was taking a Native American Studies class at college, I learned that I really like the artwork of George Longfish.

When I visited the National Gallery in London, one of my favorite pictures was this one - "The Courtyard of a House in Delft." (1658), by Pieter de Hooch.

When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

Hey! Never say there's no such thing as a free lunch. Sweetie and I just got a free lunch at our wedding reception site on Tuesday when we met with the coordinator. Nice lunch, got to try the red wine and the white wine and the champagne. 'Course, we're spending a bunch of money there....soo....

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?

Let's see.....*takes pulse*.....and.....yup.....I'm a woman. Let's just say 11, shall we.

Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?

Not that long, really. Especially since I've been so BAD lately about responding to e-mails. Even on good days, it's probably 10 to 20 minutes.

To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?

Wellll.....I don't have a thermostat at home. No central heat and air at our home in Maui. Though we would love to have air conditioning during summer.

Blog EntryWelcome to December!Dec 1, '06 12:10 AM
for everyone

Here is my writing adventure for the new month: Holidailies.  Once again, my writing buddy (and most beautiful and loyal cheerleader) Saturn has introduced me to a new challenge.  The idea of Holidailies is a community writing project where all participants promise to update their personal web sites every day from December 1 to January 1.   There is probably a similar challenge for every month of the year.  I’ll start with this one and see how it goes.  Wish me luck!

Moving from NaNoWriMo to Holidailies, I’ll be switching my writing “voice” from fiction to non-fiction (if you can believe that all these exciting things in my life are true).  One of the fun things about participating is that I am discovering a few gems in the other blogs on the site.

For an introduction to my little corner of the blogging world, I starting posting my goings-on for the friends and family that I moved away from last year.  And to keep my "fun" writing in shape since the writing I do for a living is all technical.  Also, I am a chronic over-analyzer, and I can sometimes quiet my chaotic brain by writing down some of the things that spill out of it.  Yes, some of it is political at times.  The good thing about any interactive forum is that sometimes I just want to know why other people do the things they do, think the things they do. I don’t expect all my musings to be a one-way conversation.  Some of my best researching comes when I am faced with explaining, or defending, my own ideas.  Where would I be without the folks who disagree with me??

So, who is this Stone Girl anyway?

Daughter, sister, friend, beloved, writer.  Tree-climber, occasional insomniac, Aunt, inquirer.  Laugher, crier, worker, player.  Hiker, music-loving piano player, professional, seeker, student, traveler, homebody.

Who are You?
