I fly out tomorrow and will soon be back in California to attend a good friend's wedding, visit family and friends, and GET MY DOS. I know I should be grateful that we finally have good Indian food here in Maui. And believe me, I am grateful. Now......if we could just find really really good Mexican food, or Tex Mex, or some semblance of either.....I would be truly food-happy.
Before I land in California, I am taking a fun little side trip. I am going to be in Washington and Oregon with my cousin. She is moving from near Seattle to near Ashland. While talking to her on the phone about her move a couple of weeks ago, I offered to help her pack, move, and drive. And she was quite in favor of the idea! It sounds like most of her packing and moving will be done by professionals. So, I may just end up helping with some cleaning and driving. And she is trying to throw in some playing time since I told her I have never been to Seattle. Isn't that nice??? I am immensely excited to get to spend some time with her, AND to see another part of the country I've never seen before. Yes, it's true. I spent most of my life in California and I have never been to Oregon or Washington. Now, I get to mark off two new states with one trip! Should be fun. Plus, I'm one of the few people I know (Sweetie is another) who likes to drive (given the right music). So I will be happy to drive, or just sit and be a rapt passenger.
I am looking forward to my little adventure. I need to finish packing up a little clothes and a lot of work papers. Don't know how much connectivity I will have during the trip. I should be in California in another week. I am keeping my fingers crossed that no more airlines go out of business in the next couple of weeks.
